S Series Helical-Worm Gearbox

The S family combines a helical input stage with a worm stage to turn the drive through a right angle. Its structure is useful where the motor cannot sit in line with the driven shaft and where the gearbox layout must turn the transmission path within the machine envelope.

Select the structure before the designation

A worm-stage application needs more than a designation match: the duty cycle, heat conditions, starting load and any back-driving or holding requirement need review with the driven equipment. The inherent self-locking tendency of a worm arrangement is application dependent and is not a substitute for confirming a separate holding or brake requirement.

Variant forms

S is the standard foot-mounted arrangement. SA is shaft-mounted, SAF is flange-mounted, and SF is the flange-oriented arrangement used for the applicable installation. The installation form must be checked with the customer’s equipment drawing.
